This week Malta is taking on the rainbow colours with a good selection of events to commemorate Pride Malta which will culminate into the main event Pride March 2019
Pride Malta is a celebration of achievements and a remembrance of the difficulties faced by persons who have had to struggle to be accepted and loved.

On Thursday 21st June 2018, Caritas Malta held the annual graduation ceremony at San Blas. Among the good number of courageous men and women who publicly said “no” to drug abuse by completing a very demanding programme, Fabrizio Faniello.
His sister, Claudia, posted the happy news on Facebook.
Trending would like to congratulate Fabrizio for having the courage to complete the programme and to go public about it. Also a great well done goes to Fabrizio’s family for the great support given to our Eurovision star.

Benedict Cumberbatch, David Bowie, Henry Cavill, Jane Seymour and Mila Kunis are renowned for their artistic talent. They are also famous for their particular look which eminates from a condition called Heterochromia which can be complete, partial or central.
As already mentioned, most cases of heterochromia are benign. An infant can be born with benign heterochromia, or it can become apparent in early childhood as the iris attains its full amount of melanin. These types are called congenital heterochromia.
Usually, congenital heterochromia is a genetic trait that is inherited. Benign heterochromia also can occur as the result of a genetic mutation during embryonic development.
In some cases, heterochromia is a symptom of another condition that’s present at birth or develops shortly thereafter.
One example of a condition that causes heterochromia is Horner’s syndrome. This is the combination of a constricted pupil, partial ptosis and loss of the ability to sweat on half of the face, all caused by an interruption of certain nerve impulses to the eye.
Heterochromia that develops later in life is called acquired heterochromia. Causes of acquired heterochromia include eye injuries, uveitis and certain glaucoma medications.
Latisse, a repurposed glaucoma medication now used primarily as a cosmetic agent to thicken eyelashes, also can cause the iris to change color.
The origin of the blueberry muffin is a tale of adaptation and culinary fortune. Once long ago there was a commonly used berry known as the bilberry, it was commonly used in all forms of baked goods throughout Europe. When first arriving in the Americas, the pilgrims realized that bilberries were not native to this new land, and so it was that the blueberry was discovered and found its way into baking. Once you’ve gobbled down one (or several, it’s OK, we won’t tell) you can share the wealth with your friends and co-workers. Blueberry Muffin Day is a day for sharing, and also for learning the most important recipe you’ll ever learn, that of the delicious blueberry muffin. Search them out on the internet, and find the one that speaks to your blueberry loving soul, and then prepare batch after batch until your craving for blueberry muffins is sated! Then keep practising until it comes around again!
